MARKET SOCIAL MEDIA GIVEAWAY — TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

Please read these terms and conditions before entering.

 

1. Promoter

The promoter of this competition is Makers and Designers Pty Ltd, ABN: 74 613 221 042, of QLD 4017 ("the Promoter").

2. Competition period

The Facebook competition opens at 3pm AEST on 1 November 2026 and closes at 7pm AEST on 5 November 2026.

The Instagram competition opens at 2:20pm AEST on 1 November 2026 and closes at 7pm AEST on 5 November 2026.

Entries received after the applicable closing time will not be eligible.

3. Eligibility

Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or older who reside in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, the Australian Capital Territory or the Northern Territory.

Residents of Western Australia and South Australia are not eligible to enter.

Employees of the Promoter and anyone directly involved in conducting, administering or managing the competition or the business benefiting from the promotion are also excluded.

Entrants must be residents of an eligible state or territory at the time of entry. The Promoter reserves the right to request reasonable evidence of residency from the selected winner.

No purchase is necessary to enter.

4. How to enter

Facebook competition: To enter, participants must leave a comment answering the question in the official competition post on the Promoter's Facebook Page during the competition period.

Instagram competition: To enter, participants must leave a comment answering the question in the official competition post on the Promoter's Instagram account during the competition period.

Each eligible participant may enter once per platform. Duplicate entries, fraudulent entries and entries made using fake accounts may be excluded.

Following the Promoter's social media accounts, liking posts, sharing posts or tagging other people is not a condition of entry.

Entries must be respectful and must not contain unlawful, offensive or otherwise inappropriate material.

5. Prize

The Facebook competition prize is The Ultimate Market Haul prize pack of items generously provided by our makers, valued at approximately AUD $250.

The Instagram competition prize is The Ultimate Market Haul prize pack of items generously provided by our makers, valued at approximately AUD $250.

The prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash. The prize cannot be exchanged for another item unless required by law or agreed by the Promoter.

Prize collection

The prize must be collected in person at The Made Local Market – Christmas 2026, held at the Exhibition Building, Brisbane Showgrounds, Bowen Hills, Queensland, on Saturday 7 November 2026 or Sunday 8 November 2026.

Prize collection is available during the market's public opening hours:

Saturday 7 November 2026: 9am–4pm (including the Low Sensory Hour from 3pm–4pm).

Sunday 8 November 2026: 9am–3pm.

The winner will be provided with details of the designated prize collection point when notified.

The winner must arrange collection of the prize within the above collection period. No purchase or market admission is required to collect the prize.

If the winner is unable to attend the market, they may nominate another person to collect the prize on their behalf, provided they notify the Promoter in advance and the nominated person can provide confirmation of the winner's authorisation.

If the prize has not been collected by the end of the market on Sunday 8 November 2026, and no alternative collection arrangement has been agreed with the Promoter, the prize may be forfeited and an alternative winner selected in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

6. Winner selection

One winner will be selected for the Facebook competition and one winner will be selected for the Instagram competition.

Winners will be selected at random using an electronic random number generator from all eligible entries on 5 November 2026 at 10pm AEST.

The draw will be conducted by Makers and Designers Pty Ltd at its business premises in Queensland (postcode 4017).

Winners are not required to be present at the time of the draw.

The Promoter's decision is final, subject to applicable law.

7. Notification and claiming the prize

Winners will be announced on the relevant competition post and contacted through the relevant social media platform.

Winners must respond within 48 hours of being notified and provide the information reasonably required to arrange prize collection.

The winner must confirm that they understand and can comply with the prize collection arrangements outlined in Clause 5. If they are unable to attend the market, they must contact the Promoter within the same 48-hour period to arrange for an authorised representative to collect the prize.

If a winner does not respond within this period, or is found to be ineligible, the Promoter may select an alternative winner using the same random selection method.

The Promoter will never ask a winner to pay a fee or provide payment details to claim a prize.

8. Privacy

Personal information will be collected only to administer the competition, verify eligibility and arrange delivery or collection of the prize.

The Promoter will not sell participants' personal information. Personal information will not be used for unrelated marketing without the participant's consent, and will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

Participants should not include sensitive personal information in their public comments.

 

9. General conditions

The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not comply with these terms and conditions or that involve fraud, manipulation or other improper conduct.

If circumstances beyond the Promoter's reasonable control prevent the competition from being conducted as planned, the Promoter may take reasonable steps to modify, suspend or cancel the competition, subject to applicable law.

The Promoter will not exclude or limit any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Any changes to these Terms and Conditions after the competition has commenced will only be made where permitted by applicable law and, where required, with the prior written approval of the relevant regulatory authority. Any approved changes will be communicated to participants.

10. Platform disclaimer

This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook or Instagram.

By entering, participants release Facebook and Instagram from any liability associated with this promotion to the extent permitted by applicable law. Participants acknowledge that the promotion is administered by the Promoter, not by Facebook or Instagram.

11. Applicable law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws applicable in Queensland, Australia, subject to any mandatory laws that also apply.
